Benton 1, R. Spencer 2, N. Dixon 3, R. Christian 4. Fastest time, M. Donald, 38min. 43 secs. The winner got homo in 40min. 45 sees, by three lengths, with a length between second and third. Tho rest of the field were in a bunch, with tho exception of the virtually scratch man, M. Donald, who was ten chains behind. Donald gained fastest time by a small margin from N. Dixon, who was a good third. At the end of the first lap, Benton was in the lead, with the whole field geing strongly in spite of the continuous rain. Rush, Towler and Spencer wero next, followed live seconds later by Dixon, Christian and Knowles. Donald was five seconds behind this bunch. 220 yards from the finish, it was anyone’s race and in the sprint for tho post, Benton won from Spencer. Tho racing so far this season has seen some good boys in action, who should make line riders with experience. The next race will see Colin Stevens making his debut locally. It is regrettable to have to announce that W. Collins has had to give up racing on his medical adviser’s instructions. With his record last season of being but once unplaced, great things were expected of him. The next race will be to Fcilding and back. For this event, club members will have their new jerseys, which motorists will readily recogniso and no doubt give tho cyclists right of way'on corners and bridges.
