SPECTACULAR GAME. The most spectacular game of soccer witnessed this season at North street park was played on Saturday between E.S.A. and Block House, the game ending in a draw. On No. 2 ground, St. Andrew’s defeated Rangers by 5 goals to 2, while similar scores were registered in tho Athletic-Feilding match which was won by the former team. Following is the position of the

SPLENDID GAME. The gamo between Flock House and R.S.A. attracted chief interest at North street by the reason of the fact that it was the first appearanco of the Flock House team in Palmerston North. The teams were as under: — Flock House (red): Bush, Hockey, Hunting, Iverson, John, Campbell, Gibson, Garner, Jeromson, Goodall, Bennett. R.S.A. (blue and white): Graham, Kempson, Johnson, Baigcnt, Crowe, Lovejoy, Young, South, McAvinuc, Morgan, Strickland. The teams nfere evenly matched and it was only a few seconds before the change round that R.S.A. managed to find the net. The score was the result of a splendid effort. - Crowe sent in a sky-scraper which grazed the crossbar and struck tho ground a foot inside the back line. McAvinuo caught the leather on tho bounce and headed it in. Several narrow misses at goahng were witnessed during. the spell, the respective custodians being called upon to exorcise all their ingenuity. pressed hard from tho start and tor a time had the better of the game. Then came an innings tor the hostel boys, who for about ten minutes hammered at the Soldiers defence. They had a rcmnrkablv large number of opportunities but their luck seemed to be out. Undaunted, they returned and great was the jubilation of I lock House barrackers when John beat the goalie with a cleverly placed shot. r SA. was not beaten, however, and when a little later McAvinuc sent m a hefty ball teat left tho delcndcrs standing Flock House supporters looked at their -watches. Following upon a brief attack by the boys from Bulls, R S.A. went back to worry its opponents. a pile-driver from the toe of South bounced back oil the post while McAvinuc had similar bad luck a few seconds later. The soldiers were getting the better of the game at this stage but shortly before time was called Flock House made a valiant attempt to equalise. The boys kicked the leather about in great stylo. I 1 anally they were rewarded within 20 seconds of the whistle. John took the leather through at his loot and anudst cheers, equalised scores. The game thus ended 2 all. Mr. Moxam was referee. ST. ANDREW’S WINS. The wiu for St. Andrew’s against Rangers —really only a junior team, dul not come 'as a surprise. Coombs (2). Brinquloc (2) and Corkindale scored for the victors and Sharman and deques for the losers. Mr. J. H. Dick refereed. GAME AT FEILDING. In the mutch l-’eiUling versus Athletic, at i’ei'diug, the latter won by 5 goals to 2. For Athletic H. Childs j scored three goals and Smillie and Lewis one each. Chapman scored both j goals for Feilding.
