Miss M. Fry returned on Tuesday from a delightful holiday spent at Hawera.
Miss Bailey, of Feilding, is the guest of Mrs Sampson, Somme parade, Wanganui.
Miss Kathleen Hughes, of Broadway avenue, Palmerston North, and Miss Lorua Batie, are the guests of Mrs A. brown, Marton Junction.
Commander and Mrs Allan Varian, who have been spending a few days in Palmerston North, have now returned home.
The engagement is announced of PLyllis May, daughter of Mr and Mrs It. ’ McMurray, of Taonui, Feilding, to Francis R. Ginn, son of Mr and Mrs Orwin, of Timaru.
The fortnightly luncheon of the Business Girls’ Lunch club will take plnco on Monday, when it is hoped that a good attendance will be present to enjoy the programme arranged.
Miss Katherine Buchanan, M.A., who has been spending a holiday at “Mayfield,” Cunninghams, with her parents, Mr and Mrs D. P. Buchanan, intends journeying back to Martinborough on Sunday next.
, The engagement is announced of Margaret Louisa, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Holloway, Campbell street, Palmerston North, to Bernard Robert, youngest son of Mrs. A. Tasker and the late Mr. C. F. Tasker, formerly of Wanganui.
Miss J. Dalton, a prominent leader in the Girl Guides movement in England, is now in New Zealand to further Guido interests in the Dominion. Miss Dalton is expected in Palmerston North to-day from Marton, and will address the Brownies. While in Palmerston North Miss Dalton will be the guest of the local Commissioner, Miss Worburton.
