At about 2 o’clock yesterday morning a house was burnt down at Halcombe. One of the inhabitants, Mr. Frank Cowley, was nearly trapped in the flames and in escaping suffered severe burns about the neck and shoulders. Mr. Cowley was admitted to Palmerston North hospital for treatment.
