WHAT ARCHIE LECKIE SAYS:
“Johnny’s tout icith Billy Grime was his best fight to (late. He teas very light and fast, and was very strong —fought the last rounds faster than the first, and was never troubled at any part. “His fight with Claude Wilson was supposed to be the best fight seen in Melbourne for years. Wilson is a good fighter, and very tough. Both bouts were good, clean and fast,'with plenty of hard hitting. Johnny defeated him even more easily this time, and is fighting well at present. “Bill Lang, the good old-time heavy-weight, is taken up with Johnny's style, and reckons he is like, and fights the same as, the late Les Darcy. He advised him to go to America, and said he would do well there.”
