Brigadier Bill followed up his last year’s success in the Wanganui Steeplechase, giving a convincing display that was all but faultless and Mister Gamp had a similarly easy victory in the Century Hurdles. Paitonu was easily first home in the Connolly Handicap., from the little fancied Lady Limond and Keddar beat Limited by a good margin in the sprint. The tote handled £20,776 10s for the seven races, as against £22,503 10s last year.
