TO AMERICA AND BACK BY ZEPPELIN

Flight Round World GERMANY’S ENTERPRISE United Press Association—By Electri* Telegraph—Copyright. Times Cable. LONDON, May 15. The Times correspondent at Berlin states that the airship Graf Zeppelin is now ready to lcavo Friedrichsiiafcn on its second United States flight, ihcrc is a passenger list of eighteen, which includes two representatives of the German Ministry of Commerce and Commander Clarke, of the Lakohurst Airship Station. Captain Eckener has received notification that he will not be allowed to cross the Drench frontier, except between tho hours of 7 and 9 in tho morning. The French attitude is due to the fact that the Graf Zeppelin at a low altitude flew over the fortunes of Besancon recently and the important engineering centre of Lo Creusot. The airship will stay three days at Lakehurst and return to Friedrichshafen on May 25 for Scandinavian cruises until July 15. It will then cross tho Atlantic once more to Lakehurst, which is the official starting point of a twenty-one day round-the-world cruise, the route being back to Fricdriclisafcn and thence to Californian, via Tokio, and on to Lakehurst, and thence to Friedrichshafen via England. CONSIDERABLE LATITUDE CROSSING FRANCE. ALTERNATIVE ROUTES. PARIS, May 5. Contrary to the Berlin report, the French Government has authorised the Graf Zeppelin to fly over French territorv following an application by the German Embassy. The conditions are less restrictive than when the airship cruised to Egypt. Three alternative routes are offered, and considerable latitude is allowed regarding time, ati it is realised that the atmospheric conditions render it difficult to adhere to a rigid time-table. AIRSHIP SAILS. Eeceived Thursday 8.50 p.m. LONDON, May 16. The Graf Zeppelin started at 5.5. TAILOR-BTOWAWAY CAUGHT IN TIME. WOULD HAVE BEEN THROWN OUT IN PARACHUTE. Received Thursday, 11.40 p.m. BERLIN, Last Night. A desperate last-minuto effort to stowaway on the Graf Zeppelin was made by a you>g Bavarian tailor as the command was given to open the doors of tho hangar-the special guard noticed a man high in the network of hangar girders ready to jump on top of the dirigible. Tho start was delayed while the guard climbed the roof and arrested the tailor, Adolf Lenk. He admits lie planned to climb through the safety valve of the roof to tho crew’s quarters. The officers of the Zeppelin assert that they were serious in announcing that any stowaway found after the start would be pitched overboard in a parachute. Captain Lehmann, first officer, states that Leuna gas which is heavier than the usual blue gas is being used this trip. The fuel aboard is sufficient for ISO hours whereas it is anticipated the flight will take S 6 hours arriving at New York on Sunday morning. OVER FRANCE. Received Thursday, 11.20 p.m. BERLIN, May 16. Five Swiss aeroplanes escorted the Zc-ppelin to the frontier where Captain Eckner headed for the mouth of the Loire, thence probably to the Azores.
