POPE CLASHES WITH MUSSOLINI ON EDUCATION
United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright. Received Thursday, 7.15 p.m. ROME, May 16. The Pope, addressing ex-students from the Oollego of Mondragone whom he recoived in an audience, challenged tho Fascist! thesis expounded by Signor Mussolini that education was primarily the duty of the State. He said it lies firstly and above all with the church and the parents. Referring to Mussolini's doctrine: '' We must give youth the sense of power and virility of conquest,” the Pope .declared :‘‘Whnt will befall if all tho States brought up their youth on ideas of conquest.” Ho added: "The church does not intend to forego its educational rights.”
