THE TIVOLI

“THE PRICE OF FEAR.’’ A gripping story of the underworld, with its gangs, detective and police is portrayed in the Universal picture, “The Price of Fear.” The story concerns the adventures of a wealthy New York clubman who follows the calling of an amateur detective. He is helping the police to round up a gang of dangerous crooks, and is given information through a “stool pigeon,” one of the gang. He is found out, and shot by members of the gang and the amateur detective sets out to track down the murderers. A series of thrilling adventures and narrow escapes from death follow his attempts to bring the culprits to justice, and, unknown to him, !ko is ably assisted by a maid in the ! employ of the gang leader, and who, is in reality a police spy. How the crooks aro eventually cornered and captured forms a fitting climax to this actionful drama. Bill Cody, a stunt wizard, plays the role of the amateur detective and performs some hair-raising stunts in his efforts to capture the gang. The role of the maid is enacted by pretty Duane Thompson, while others in the well selected cast include Toni London, Ola Ness, Alonte Montague, Jack Raymond and Grace Cunard. “The Collegians” will be continued and a matinee will be given at 2.30 p.m. to-morrow.
