JOHN GILBERT AND JOAN CRAWFORD IN ‘FOUR WALLS.’ “Four Walls,” is John Gilbert’s answer to any assertions that a great lover on the screen need not necessarily be a great actor. In this picture Gilbert is both a great actor and a great lover. Tho picture is without question the best piece of dramatic acting Gilbert has done on the screen. At the same time it contains a sufficient number of real, honest-to-good love scenes to satisfy the most’ exacting of fhc Gilbert fans. Joan Crawford, who co-stars with John Gilbert, plays the role of an underworld Venus." To look at her, one would think that her clothes were scanty enough, yet they are so very tight fitting that they must be weighted at the hem-lino to hold them down '. “Four Walls” is tho story of a gangster who shoots a man in a cafe brawl and is sent to prison for four years. When he gets out he is resolved to go straight, but cannot survive the lure of the old love for a new and better one. The last episode of “The Trail of the Tiger” will be screened.
