ENTRY OF ENGLISH PUBLIC SCHOOLBOYS
Under Immigration Ban
PREMIER PROMISES TO CONSIDER LIFTING IT
LABOUR MARKET NOT AFFECTED.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Last Night,
The lifting of the restriction of the immigration of English public schoolboys was asked of the Premier by the immigration committee of the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce.
It was pointed out that the Chamber had settled 150 boys with remarkable success and that the arrived of the'boys Would not aggravate lineiiipldyment, as many farmers' at' present were unable to secure workers for'their farms.
Sir' Joseph Ward 'pointed out that there was a cry throughout the Dominion for fhe relief of unemployment and for' this' reason, immigration hail been restricted iD the meantime.
He had not realised, however, that the restriction hail applied to sehoolbovs. He would have inquiries mado immediately ah'd give the Chamber an early reply.
