APITI-POHANGIN A RABBIT BOARD

At a meeting of the Apiti-Pohangina Rabbit Board held on May 6, at the Council Chambers, Pohangina, there were present Trustees A. Brooking (in the chair), J. S. Mclntyre, H. L. Os-, borne, W. M. Stewart and L. A. Palmer. , , ~ The inspector had tendered his resignation to the chairman and the board resolved to accept same. Accounts totalling £73 11s were passed for payment. Trustee Osborne moved a vote oi thanks to the inspector and secretary for the manner in which they had carred out their duties, and stated that he considered the inspector and the board deserved every praise for the successful manner in which the rabbits have been reduced in this district. Trustee Stewart, in seconding the motion, which was carried unanimously, endorsed Trustee Osborne’s remarks, as he considered the inspector deserved great credit for the work ho had done. Trustee Palmer then moved a vote cf thanks to the chairman for the able manner in which he had carried out his duties, and expressed the hope that ho would see him. back on the board again after the election, and ho also hoped that the inspector would be reinstated when the new board met. Trustee Mclntyre seconded the motion, endorsing the remarks made by Trustee Palmer. The motion was carried unanimously. , The chairman, in returning thauks, expressed his appreciation at the manner in which the trustees and staff had carried out their duties, and added that he was pleased to be able to say that there were very few rabbits in the board’s area, and he was sure that soon there were going to be very few noxious weeds. He hoped that all the trustees would be back on the new board.
