He is one of the few athletes to retain a title (the 800 metres)., in two successive Olympiads, and he did this at Amsterdam last year by establishing an Olympic record. Shortly afterwards, in Berlin, he beat Dr. Peltzer in another 800 metres race in Imin 51 1-5 sec., a world’s record.
