NEW WILLARD CHILDREN’S HOME
To the Editor.
Sir, —To-niorrow, May 8, at 2.30 p.m. the board of management is celebrating tho first anniversary of the new Manawatu Willard Children’s Home, 86 Russell Street. Members cordially invite all those who are interested in the welfare of little children to bo present, I will tako this opportunity to thank all those kind friends who so generously contribute to the upkeep and finances and urge them to take this opportunity to visit the home, and see for themselves the beautiful up-to-date dwelling and its happy, healthy inmates. The matron would be grateful for any of the following gifts:—Sugar, oatmeal, flour, salt, butter, rice, sago, honey, jam, tapioca, tea, cocoa, cornflour, vermicelli, macaroni, potatoes, essences, currants, sultanas, raisins, dates, cooking figs, spice, jelly, crystals, prunes, dried apricots, peel, large saucepan, large colander, crockery, coal, coke, firewood, sweeping broom, yard broom, large clothes basket, clothes pegs, vegetable grater, large mixing bowl, garden rake, hoe, small weeding forks, boys’ pyjamas, grey shirts, boys’ pants, stockings, boots and house shoes, sizes 1,2 and 3. If there are any sympathisers who would like to help financially, by being annual subscribers, the board would bo very grateful to hear from them, as there are ten children wholly depuadent on their efforts.
