Varying reports to-night from Gate City, Virginia, state that between fifty and eighty bodies of , children have been removed from the Wreckage of the Kyecove high school which was demolised by a tornado. The rescuers are working frantically to extricate somo 250 children and teachers from the ruins piled above them. Later reports now indicate that twelve children arc known to be dead and ninety injured. '

TORNADO ALSO STRIKES PRISON. ■ Received Friday, 9.50 p.m. NEW YORK, May 3. News from Columbus, Ohio, states that two prisoners were killed and six injured, three seriously, when a tornado struck the city gaol to-day. The prisoners wero trapped in their bunks when the “twister” crushed the wall about them.
