KNOCKED DOWN BY A CAR

ACCIDENT IN MAIN STREET. Last evening when Mrs. Edwards, of 5 Snelson street, Palmerston North, was crossing Main street West after coming out of tho subway, she was knocked down by a motor car. Tho driver, on seeing what he had done, gallantly stepped on the accelerator and disappeared into the night, leaving his unfortunate victim lying on the street. Help was soon forthcoming and the injured lady was conveyed to the hospital where 'medical examination disclosed fortunately that no serious injuries had been inflicted, although Mrs. Edwaids sustained facial abrasions and bruises.
