MYSTERIOUS FIRE ON OUTSKIRTS OF DUNEDIN
THREE HOUSES GUTTED. Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Last Night. A mysterious fire, which completely gutted three houses, occurred at Tomahawk this morning. In the absence of the firo engine, neighbours and passersby assisted in an attempt to extinguish the flames but were helpless, owing to the lack of fire-fighing equipment. Tine bulk of the furniture was removed undamaged but the buildings wero totally destroyed.
