From Our Own Correspondent. After repeated steady rain set in Sunday afternoon, which will do an immense amount of good. Newly grassed paddocks will profit, also recently sown “green feed” for ths supply of necessary fodder for spring use. An added amount of autumn feeding will keep dairy herds going for a longer period, and those w-ho have found the soil too stiff for gardening, will no longer have any further excuse to offer. Football. On the recreation grounds, Saturday afternoon, a match was played between the Sanson and resident junior teams. Haleombe finally won by 6 to 3. The match was refereed by Mr. C. Sanson. At the conclusion of the game, the guests were entertained. Hockey. The proposed men’s hockey team for the Haleombe district has fallcE through for this season. Personal. Mr. D. Managh, is progressing as well as can be expected after his recent accident. . a Mr. E. Wishnowsky, of Mangoane road, had the misfortune to inflict a deep gash on the back of the hand, whilst engaged in trimming a hedge last week.
