POLITICAL PREFERENCE ALLEGED BY FARMERS
SOUTHLAND LAND BOARD. Per Press Association. INVERCARGILL, Last Night. _ At a meeting of the. Invercargill branch of the Farmers Union on Saturday, Mr. T. Giller made reference to tho action of tho Government in replacing Mr. John Carnncal on tho Southland Land board. He declared that in the face ■ of' the facts, Mr Carmichael had been ousted to make way for a man of different political opinion. Members agreed that Mr. Carmichael had been a valuable member of tho Land board and it wa3 docided to bring the matter up at the next meeting of the provincial executive.
