SUPPLEMENTARY SALE OF FLEECES

1350 BALES, MOSTLY POOR STUFF. (Special to Times.) WELLINGTON, Last Night. Messrs Dalgety and Co. report a supplementary wool sale this afternoon. A small offering of 1350 bales was submitted. Buyers did not attend in large force, and bidding generally was spasmodic and erratic. The quality and condition of the offering were generally, inferior, the catalogues being chiefly comprised of rough, seedy fleece of heavy condition and bellies and pieces. It is difficult to give a comparison of rates ruling for March and the few lots of good wools offered did not command the same competition as at last sale, passings being heavy. Medium and inferior parcels were at par. There was a good demand from French buyers for seedy lambs’ wool and satisfactory prices were obtained for all lots offered.
