It will probably take him at least five days to reach the district where ho will commenco the search. Mr. C. Price Conigrave, the explorer, who knows the district well, stated: “There is only a comparatively small area of Country in the immediate neighbourhood of the mission station, where, even with a sporting chance, Kiugsford Smith could have landed at all without diro results to the machine and the party. The whole position is rendered more serious by reason of the fact that at the latter end of the wet season the country Is more or less waterlogged. The land between the Prysdale River and the mission station comprises wild sandstone, where landing without accident or possible death would be an impossibility.
