ORPHEUS SOCIETY
The Orpheus society, one of the most useful of the local musical societies, is about to a re-comnjenco practices. Durin- the past year, this organisation has rendered very valuable service to the community in the assistance which its members have given to charitable ob j jects by the provision of concert items. As well as training in concerted members under the direction of an able conductor, Mr. T. P. Henderson, the practices of the society also give mem-, bers an opportunity to practice solo work with an able accompanist and a number of local performers of distinction owe a considerable measure of their success to the training and experience which the Orpheus society has given them. The club is anxious to secure new members and at the outset of tho year’s activities extends an invitation to all those who are interested in its work to become members and join in its practices.
