SHEEP-STEALING IN ASHBURTON COUNTY
ON UNPRECEDENTED SCALE. BELIEVED THIEVES ARE USING LORRY. Per Press Association, ASHBURTON, Last Night. Sheep-stealing on a scale unprecedented in the county is reported as having taken place within the last two weeks. A farmer in an isolated district lost 200 at one time. In other parts of the county, losses of SO in two cases and of 50 are reported, besides lesser numbers generally. It is believed that the thieves operate with a lorry.
