Bir Cecil Hurst has been nominated to succeed Lord Finlay as the British representative at the Hague Court. Captain J. 0. Webber, of the Alanawatu Mounted Rifles, has been awarded the Colonial Auxiliary Forces long sorvico medal. At last evening’s meeting of Manawatu Amateur Athletie and Cycling club, a vote of condolence was passed to tho relatives of the late Mr. H. W. Brown, members standing in silence. Regret at the passing of Air. John Bett, of Palmerston North, was expressed at yesterday’s meeting of tho Palmerston North Fire Board, a motion of condolenco with rolatives being recorded, members standing in silence as a mark of respect to deceased who served many years on the oßard.
