EX-AUCKLAND LEAGUERS PLAYING WELL IN ENGLAND
Latest reports from England aro to the effect that the New Zealand trio, Brown, Davidson and Mason, are playing great football for Wigan in the Rugby League. Up to the end of January, Brown had scored 40, tries, and is rated by the critics as one of the finest scoring men in the 13-a-side code. In order to speed up the other flank of the Wigan Tittack, Davidson has been tried on the wing, the exAucklander showing splendid form. In his last three matches he has scored four tries. Wigan is now level with Leeds on the League table, although Wigan beat Leeds, 19 points to 10. When the last mails left, the Wembley Cup ties were just starting, and Wigan was fortunate enough to draw Batley (which it recently defeated, 35-0) at home in its first elimination contest. Wigan’s brilliant record this season has made it a favourite for the Cup.
