The defendant was thereupon arrested and made a voluntary appearance at the Fcilding Alagistratc’j Court half an hour later before Messrs J. W. Bramwell and A. J. Geary J’sP. The defendant pleaded guilty and in answer to the Bench stated that he was a taxi proprietor and only occasionally did a little bookmaking. Sergeant Cahill said defendant, was a respectable citizen, married, and nothing further was known against him. The sergeant said that a similar ease was dealt with a few days ago when a fine of £5 was imposed.
