HOAJE CLUB’S REPORT. PAST SEASON MOST SUCCESSFUL. The following is the annual report of the Fcildiug Rugby Football club, to be presented at to-night’s annual meeting: — In reviewing the operations of the club for the past year it must be admitted that it was one of Ihe most successful in the history of football iu Fcildiug. The new grounds at Johnston Park were played on and proved a great boon to players and spectators. Competition was very keen and some hard fought games took place. Teams were entered in three grades, senior, junior and third. The senior toam was successful in winning the Goldfinch and Cousins’ Cup and also finished well up in the senior championship. The junioi team was third in the junior championship and it was only during tlic latter stages that their chances of victory were taken away. The third grade team did not do so well owing to there being a scarcity of players in this grade. The season commenced with the opening of tho new football grounds. The senior team played its annual match with Hui Alai and a most enjoyable game resulted iu a wiu for the visitors. The Hui Alai team has now visited Feilding two years in succession. Yout committee felt that as this has been a very long standing fixture with tho Hui Mai club they should be given the right to open the game on tho new ground. Ail invitation was accordingly sent io them which they readily accepted. An endeavour was also made on this occasion to arrange matches for the junior and third gnado teams. A game was arranged for the junior team but the visitors did not put in an appearance. The following players arc to bo congratulated on gaining places In representative teams:—Afanawhenua: 11. Darragh, A. Conrad; Atanawatu: H. Bowler, M. Hight, C. Hight, AI. Lynch, A. AValdin, R. Darragh. Junior: Alanawhenua: R. Benge, J. Hepburn; Manawatu: K. Fitzgerald, A. Scott, C. Thurston. Third: A. Hayden, I. Zuppicich. In conjunction with tho Feilding Old Boys’ Football club the gymnasium m Stafford street was again leased. This was used extensively by players throughout the season. A slight loss was sustained on the venture, a half share of which was met by the Icilding Old Boys’ club. The club’s social committee held two dances during the season which realised a notprofit of £l2 12s lid. The accounts of the club arc submitted herewith . The season commenced with a debit balance of £2 9s Od. The total receipts amounted to £64 5s 4u and the expenditure £59 6s 3d. The club has now a credit balance of £4 The thanks of the club are duo to all outgoing officials and supporters of the club for their ready assistance given during the past season.
