His wife died and Clark a few days later remarried. The police had the first wife’s body exhumed and traces of arsenic were found in the stomach. Arsenic was also found in Clark’s pockets. Clark to-day swore ho was- innocent, but the jury, after many hours deliberation, found him guilty, and he was sentenced to death. The case excited great public interest. .
