THE BOROUGH ELECTIONS

MR. ANDREW GUY A CANDIDATE. Mr. Andrew Guy, a well-known resident of Palmerston North, states thht be will be a candidate at the forthcoming Borough Council elections. Asked if he intended to contest the Mayoralty, Air. Guy answered with .1 modest negative. With previous Council experience and almost a lifetime s acquaintance with the growth and progress of Palmerston North, Air. Guy will be a prominent figure on polling day.

MAYORAL CAMPAIGN.

The initial meeting of the-support-ers of Air. A. J. Graham in his candidature for the Alayoralty for the ensuing term was held last evening when there was a large and enthusiastic gathering. A good working campaign committee with Air. Wf I. Duiwar*d as chairman was set up and various subcommittees appointed. The plan of campaign was decided upon and tho committee intends to leave no stone unturned to secure the return of the present Alayor with an increased majority. Air. Graham will give an account of his stewardship to the electors at various parts of tho borough. Dates and places of meeting will be advertised later.
