It is particularly sad to notice the death of a young man such as he. He served his King and country during tho Great War, and did his duty us a Court official well and took an active and useful part in sporting affairs. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his widow and young children. Mr. Stout, S.M., said that he joined with the profession in tendering to Mrs. Brown and family their sympathy. As they had said though Mr. Drown had only been in Palmerston North r. few years, he was glad to know thas they as he, had found him an'efficient and courteous officer. It was indeed regrettable that ho should have been cut off at such an age. Apart from his work, the deceased was taking a laudable part in useful sports in Palmerston North. Senior-Sergeant Whitehouse, on behalf of the police, expressed his regret at Mr. Brown’s untimely death, stating that their relations had always been most pleasaiit and that the deceased gentleman was ever willing to help in any way he could. His loss was a sad one. As a mark of respect the Magistrate' adjourned the Courl. for live minutes.
