The croquet tournament continued yesterday in unsettled weatheT, bnt the various events are working out to the semi-final stages. - The club pairs championship was decided, tho Misses Evans, of Melbourne, defeating Mr and Mts Bobertson, of Manawatu in a very good game that proved most interesting throughout. Further results were: —

Handicap singles A, second round* Mrs Campbell (2s) defeated Mrs T; Simpson (5) 26—13; Mrs Jennings (4i) defeated Mrs Hodgson by default. Third Tound: Mrs Sutton (6) defeated Mrs Campbell (2}) 26—22; Mrs Kirk (3) defeated Mrs Jennings (4}) 26—16.

Handicap doubles, third round: Mrs Simpson (7) and Miss McFarlane (5) defeated Mesdames McDonald (5) and Langford (S’) 26—12. Semi-final: Mesdames Turner (4) and Sherwood (6) defeated Mesdames Jamieson (5) and Oliver (7) 26- —19. Club pairs, semi-final: Mr and Mts Bobertson (Manawatu) defeated Mqsdames Campbell and Gambrill (Manawatu) 26 —21. Final: Misses Evans (Melbourne) defeated Mr and Mrs Bobertson (Manawatu) 26—24. The, game was fairly oven until the 24th hoop. Mr Bobertson, in tho croquet shot, peeled,-his own ball out. Tho Misses Evans returned to B bank and by a senes of manoeuvres got a perfect drive to the hoop through this winning the game. Championship single B, second round: Mrs Glendinning defeated Mrs Badford--2G—l6; Mrs E. Simpson defeated Mrs Oliver 26—19; Mrs Davidson defeated Mrs Manning 26—49. ! Third round: Mrs Wood defeated Mrs McCarthy 26—11; Mrs Day defeated Mrs Legge by default. Championship single A, second round: Mrs Spring defeated Mrs Fuller 26—21. Draw. Play to begin at 8.30 to-day sharp. Championship singles B, Mrs May plays Mrs Wood. Handicap sigles A, Mrs Turner" plays Miss McFarlane. Handicap single B, Mrs Dickel plays Mis Badford, Mrs Manning plays Mrs Glendinning. All players in all events to be on the lawns at 11 o’clock sharp.
