BANKRUPT BUILDER REFUSED DISCHARGE

Mr. Justice Blair at tlio Supreme Court refused an application for the discharge from bankruptcy of William Walter Scott, builder, of Hamilton. The Official Assignee said that Scott appeared to have been £1590 in debt when ho undertook contracts worth £31,000 building a theatre at Paeroa and an hotel at Morrinsville. He had failed to account for his losses ftnd had not kept books during the course of those contracts. Several creditors opposed granting a discharge. His Honour, in refusing a discharge, said that Scott had bitten off more than ho could chew and had muddled along.
