INTERNATIONAL GANG OF DOCUMENT FORGERS

SL Tho police have arrested Vladimir Orloff and Michael Sumarakoff, who aro believed to be members of a dangerous gang of international document forgers suspected of forging the notorious letters accusing Senators Borrah and Norris of receiving' £20,000 from the Soviet Government for services Tendered in obtaining recognition of the Soviet by the United States. Detectives discovered two trunks full of documents in Russian, together with a number of faked rubber and metal stamps. Sumarakoff is au employee of thd Soviet Embassy here.

Orloff was once one of the chiefs of the secret police of Tsarist Russia aud is now a master spy, seeking to avenge tho murdered Emperor, while Snmarakoff was formerly an envoy of the Ukraine Soviet Republic. Another arrestee was Gertrude Duemmler, a girl of bewitching beauty, who is Orloff's secretary. ,
The police on raiding Orloff’s country house at Scheindau, found a finely equipped chemical laboratory and arsenal of small arms. It is believed many alleged Soviet documents published in Europe were. manufactured in Orloff’s factory at Scheidau. The Berlin correspondent of the New York newspaper Knickerbocker tricked Sumarakoff into loaning him the forgeries for sufficient time to have photographs taken and thus enabled the Berlin political polio© to arrest the gang. ]■-'
