FARMERS’ FIELD DAY

Advertised in this issue is a ‘Field Day’ to bo held at the farm of Messrs. Conlan Bros., Oroua Downs, when Mr. H. R. Green, of Kairanga, will demonstrate the dairy cow, and as Mr. Green’s ability on this interesting point is well-known, dairy farmers will have a good opportunity of gaining firsthand information on the finer points of thed airy cow. The herd to be visited is the Shorthorn breed, and it will be remembered about a year ago a prominent judge, on visiting the farm, “expressed his opinion that this was the finest herd of the breed in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition to this, Mr. Cockayne, of the Fields Division, Department of Agriculture, will given an address on grasses, manures, and the cost of increased production. Altogether, the day should prove a benefit to all dairy farmers, and a good attendance is anticipated.
