Six hundred marksmen have entered for tho various events at Williamstown. The New Zealanders are well, having Leen restricted to light pratico during tho hot weather. To-day's fine weather, with strong right cool winds, was a welcome relief to the Dominion men. James, of Napier, won the first event, the Frank Stuart match, of 10 shots at 300 yards, taking ten rounds with the possible. Continuing, he registered 17 consecutive bulls—a magnificent performance for which he was keenly congratulated by tho Australians. Other prize-winners were Soler and Mclver, with scores of 48, who took £2 each; Kerr, 47; Masefield, 46; J. Feast, 45, each taking £l. The remaining Now Zealand scores were: Piper, Hood and Simmonds, 45; Nix, 43; Paterson, Bolton, Boon and H. Feast, 41; Swanson, 40; Whiteman, 39; Root and Orr, 38. After lunch, the wind increased in strength, making holding difficult for the rest of the day. In the Swallow and Ariel match, ten shots at 500yds. Paterson scored 49 and won £2 10s. The following took £1 each: James, 48; Mclver, H. Feast, Whiteman, Swanson, Simmonds, 47; Root, 46. Counted out were: Solar, Boon and Bolton, 46. James is leading all others in the aggregate.
