Eain fell in Feilding yesterday after a fine spell of just on five weeks. The death occurred yesterday at hil late residence, Bailey street, of Mr. Peter Sinclair, an early settler of tho Manawatu district, aged 81 years. The late Mr. Sinclair will be remembered by older settlers as being connected with many public -works in the Manawatu in the early days of its settlement and was active till a late age. His death follows on a lengthy illness. A son was a few years back employed on the local post office staff and he subsequently lomoved to the Thames district. Aucther son is a farmer at Koputuroa. Eangiwahia will be en fete to-mor-row for the annual Show, which is looked upon as an outing of importanco to the settlers of a vast district.

Mr. David Graham, brother of Mr. John Graham, of Feilding, has entered a private hospital in Palmerston North for treatment.

The Feilding Amateur Swimming club will stage its final carnival for the season to-morrow night at the municipal baths. Among the noted performers nominated aro Miss A. Stratton, of the Gonville club, Wanganui and Miss B. Harford and P. Sporle, of Feilding, A. Noble of Wanganui and W. Harrison and G. Hirini ,of Foxton, will also bo competitors.
