LOOK-UP ESCAPEE IS CAUGHT IN CUPBOARD
MADE HIMSELE COMFORTABLE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Last Night. John William Osborne, aged 17, who escaped from the polico station lock-up a fortnight ago, was arrested at two o’clock this morning asleep in a large cupboard at the residence of Mr. George Bloomfield, Epsom, about detectives had been informed a suspicious character had been seen. A half-eaten apple and an open book and a bed made of eiderdowns indicated that Osborne had made himself comfortable.
Osborne had gained an entry by climbing through a window. He submitted to arrest without a struggle, and appeared in Court later on a charge of breaking and entering, entering and tho theft of jewellery and money to the value of £75. He was remanded to March 7. Further charges are said to bo pending.
