Children would be brought Up from birth to fit them for their careers and would be subjectod to various rays, injected with serum and fed on tablets, in accordance with the profession or trade for which he was intended. Crime would be regard ed as a disease, curable by surgical operations. While wo were accustomed to scoff at the ancients who sought tho Philosopher’s Stone and the Elixir of Life, Modern scientists realised that both the transrfmtation of metals and the prolongation of life were within the fcounds of possibility.
