HARBOUR MASTER FAREWELLED. Members of tho Foxton beach committee with local residents gathered in force on Wednesday evening in tho Beach hall in order to say farewell to tho popular harbour master, Captain Charles Larsen, who for many years has been a well known figure in Foxton port. A most enjoyable social evening was spent, the occasion being taken to make a number of presentations to Captain Larsen. Mr. C. H. Whitehead, on behalf of the beach committee and beach residents asked the guest of tho evening to accept a handsome case of pipes and a substantial cheque, as some slight token of the esteem in which he was held. A third presentation was made by Mrs. Apiramu, who placed a valuable Maori mat over Captain Larsen’s shoulders.
