IDENTIFICATION OF MOTOR CAR VICTIM
OTHER STILL SERIOUSLY ILL. Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Last Night. The inquest concerning the death of Stephen James Johnston, aged about 40 of To Kopuru, Dargaville, who was run down and killed by a motor-car driven by Mrs. Stanley, of Riccarton, in Manchester street south last evening, was opened before the Coroner, Mr. Lawry, S.M., this evening. Evidence of identification was given and tho inquest was then adjourned sine die.
Tho condition of E. A. Baldero, of 4 Tennyson street, Takapuna, the other man who was run down at the same time and suffered a fractured skull, is stated by the hospital authorities to bo fairly satisfactory, following an operation performed last evening, but ic was still seriously ill.
