GARDEN PARTY AT 'STRATHSPEY’ FEILDING

On Wednesday afternoon Mr. anil Mrs. David Bell, who, with their daughter-Maisio, are leaving shortly for a trip to England, entertained a large number of friends at a delightful garden patty at their home ■“•Strath-i-pey, ” Kimbolton road, Feilding. In glorious sunshine the grounds of this charming home with their large velvety lawns and many bright gardens were seen to' perfection, while the house massed with flowers was a delight to the eye- -An interesting croquet competition was vron by Mrs, Kellow, of Feilding, Mrs. Charlesworth, of Palmerston North, aehieveing most success iu an amusing peg-dressing competition while fortune telling and teacup reading also created much interest. Afternoon tea was dispensed in. the dining room, the tables of which were laden with every conceivable dainty. Artistically arranged vases of delicate mauvo and pink flowers amid feathery sprays of sypsophila gave a light and dainty finish—largo bowls of beautiful shaded hydrangeas arranged about the room were also much admired. The scheme of floral decoration in the drawing room was carried out in pale 'mauve, amethyst and light and deep rose pink asters, double stock and very fine gladioli, tho result being truly delightful. Mrs. Bell received her guests wearing a graccfu lfrock of black georgette, fashioned with flowing draperies, and black picture hat finished with large cyclamen velvet dahlia. Mrs. Charles Williamson (daughter of tho hostess), smart frock of beige, marocain and silk lace, lido blue hat; Miss Maisie Bell, dainty- white embroidered voile, featuring scalloped hem and inlets of fine lace. .
