SMALL PIG CLASSES AT FEILDING SHOW
BREEDERS REGRET POSITION. At a meeting of the Manawatu-Oroua branch of tho New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association held yesterday, Mr. J. MacFarlanc expressed his disappointment at the poor competition in tho pig classes at the recent Feilding A. and P. Show. He had exhibited himself, but had been very disappointed to find that other members of the branch had not seen fit to do so. For some time past, he had been represent ing to the Feilding A. and P. Associa tion, the necessity for improving the accommodation for the pig classes at thi Feilding Showgrounds. The Association had made these improvements onlj to find that exhibitors did not avaL themseives of the facilities.
Members expressed regret at the posi tion which had arisen, a number of breeders present explaining that thej had no+ exhibited at Feilding as thej had not had animals available. How ever, they would make a point of pro paring animals for the next Feilding Show and thus avoid a repetition oi the disappointing state of affairs men tionod by Mr. MacFarlane. The secretary was instructed to writ! to the Folding A. end P. Association explaining that the lack of competition in the pig classes had been the re suit of an unfortunate combination of circumstances and not of any u-oang or ill-will towards the Association.
