The jerboa, one of the strangest of animals, is much like a mouse, except that it has very long hind legs, short fore legs and a very long tail. It is a burrowing animal, and feeds on roots, berries, seeds, fruits, leaves, grass, anil other herbage. The perboa is found in Asia, the East of Europe, and Africa, where it frequents either sandy deserts or grassy plains.
