The engagement has been announced of Alexis, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs. Alan MacDonald, Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North, to Goring Coleridge, only son of Mr and Mrs. Walter Johnston, Lower Hutt. Mrs. J. H. Whyte and family, of Palmerston North, are on a holiday visit to Paraparaumu. Mrs. Geoffrey Potts and Miss Mary McCallum, of Palmerston North, are on a visit to Taupo. Iu the recent New Zealand Junior National Scholarship examinations, highest marks wore obtained by a pupil of Mt. Richard’s School (Pohangina)—Miss Beryl Stevens, daughter of Mr. anti Mrs. B. Stevens and grand-daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. McKenzie of Palmerston North. Mr. and Mrs. T. Donaldson and family having spent a threo weeks holiday at Plirnmcrton returned to Folding on Saturday.

STANWAY. Personal. Mrs. T. Green with her daughter Alison left Stanwav on Friday for a hoiiday visit to Auckland. The Misses N. and K. Green journeyed to Wellington for the week-end. Little Miss Joan Dermer arrived home on Saturday from Nurse Chalmers’ private hospital, Ken Parsons left the same institution on Friday. The infant soil of Mr. and Mrs. Usher Miles is progressing very satisfactorily after his recent operation. The friends of Miss Francis Brew will be sorry to learu she is at present in Nurse Chambers’ private hospital, Feilding, awaiting an operation for appendicitis. FEILDING NOTES. Mrs Larry Baker and party arrived back in Feilding on Sunday from a very delightful camping holiday spent round about Taupo, Kawhia and New Plymouth. Mrs George Turnbull of Makino, and her son Jim are on a visit to the South Island. Mrs K. M. Little and her small daughter are holidaying at Plimmerton after which they intend paying a visit to Wellington. Mrs Cyril Dermer and - family of, Cheltenham have Tcturnod from Devonport, Auckland.
