AUCTIONEERS’ REPORTS. Messrs. Levin & Co., ‘Ltd., report:— At the Feilding sale on Friday, we had a fair yarding of rape and store lambs and one pen of aged ewes. All sheep met with keen competition and in most instances sold above vendors’ expectations. We yarded some good prime cows which sold well up to late values, also an average yarding of store catt't). We quote:—Fat ewes, 22s Id; b.f. 2-th’s., 30s; fat wethers (passed), 525; woolly w.f. wether lambs, 23s 9d (passed), 22s 6d; shorn w|f. wether lambs, 225, 22s 7d; shorn w.f. medium, 39s 6d, 39s lOd, 20s; shorn w.f. small, 18s 4d, 17s 60, 16s 6d, 15s Id; b.f. rape lambs, 20s Id, 22s lOd, 23s 6d, 24s Id; mediirm b.f. lambs, 19s lOd, 20s, 17s 6d, 16s 6d: w.f. shorn ewe lambs, 26s 9d; small, 18s 2d; fat cows, P.A., £l2 ss, £l2 12s 6d; fat cows, S.H., £9 17s, £lO 12s Cd; fat dairy sorts, £8 15s, £9 ss; Jersey heifers, r.w'.b., £8 11s.
The N.Z. Loan & Mercantile Agency Coy., Ltd., report: —At the usual weekly sale held on Friday, about three thousand sheep were yarded, the bulk of the offering consisting of lambs. There was a good attendance of the public, and bidding was spirited throughout, the whole offering being seld under the hammer at satisfactory prices. A small yarding of cattle also sold well. Quotations: —Fat b.f. lambs, 29s 3d, 30s; store b.f. lambs, 16s 6d to 24s Id; w.f. woolly wether lambs, 24s to 22s 7d; w.f. shorn -wether lambs, 35s Id to 22s 6d; w.f. shorn ewe lambs, 26a 9d; Jersey heifers, £3 to £8 15s; P.A. yearling steers, £7 2s; vealers, £2 19s; fat heifers, £l2 10s; fat bullocks, £l3. Messrs. Dalgety & Coy., Ltd., report on the sales of the week, as under:— There was a small entry of stock at. the Bulls sale on Monday, January 7. Quotations: —Weaner pigs, 10s 6d,-12s; stores, 20s; 3-months sows, 30s; empty cows, £5 ss; fat cows, £6, £7, £7 10s; dairy cows, £8 10s; weaner heifers, £3 Is.
There was a fair entry of stock at the Ashhurst sale on Wednesday, January 0. Quotations: —Dairy cows at drop, £9 15s, £l2, £l2 2s 6d; heifers in milk, £8 7s 6d, £l2 2s 6d; Jersey cross weaner heifers, £3 ss; store cows, £4; fat and forward cows, £6 17s; empty 2-yr. heifers, £5 2s 6d; fat cows, £B, £8 14s; Jersey weaner bulls, £3 ss; weaner pigs, 12s, 14s 6d. There was a fair yarding of cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday, January 11. Quotations: —Jersey springing heifers, £8 10s, £9; empty cows, £4 15s, £5, £5 ss; fat cows, £7 15s, £B, £8 10s, £lO, £lO ss, £11; light, fat heifers, £7 10s, £8 10s.
