FEILDING SHOW

COMMITTEE MEETING. Mr J. G. Eliott presided at a meeting of the general committee of the Fcilding A. and P. Association held on Friday night, when final preparations were made for the show to bo held on February 5 and 0. There were also present Messrs Jas. Knight, E. P. C. •Swainsoil, F. J. Boddy, AV. S. Page, E. 11. Lange, N. E. Gifford, AV. Henson, C. Evans, E. E. Short, A. (J. Buist, H. B. Jchnston, C. G. C. Benner, N. J. Short, R. Richardson, D. Whisker, H. J. Lancaster, O. McElrov and H. SmithcM. Air. A. Eobottom wrote regretting that he could uot accept the invitation to give a demonstration ol" Romneys at tho show. The committee decided to ask Mr E. E. Short to give the demonstration, failing other arrangements. The Prime Minister (Sir Joseph Ward) and Hon. G. W. Forbes, Minister of Agriculture, replying to invitations to attend the show, stated they would consider the matter when making arrangements for the New Year. The Hon. J. G. Cobbo accepted the invitation to attend the show. A silver rose bowl was placed on the table by Air Lancaster, being a challenge trophy for the champion Jersey cow. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Lancaster. Air F. J. Jones, of Hastics’ hotel, presented a £5 5s trophy to be allotted as the committee might decide. The president, and Messrs Short and Swainson were appointed to make the allocation of this trophy. Mr, Jones was heartily thanked. Air E. E. Short offered a bullock for the weight guessing competition. The following new members were elected: —Alessrs A. R. Bartlett, Kirnbolton; H. L.
