DEVASTATING FIRES SWEEPING VICTORIA

Devastating bush fires are now sweeping the major portion of Victoria, doing tremendous damage to fences and grasslands. In Gippslaud, several narrow escapes from death were experienced by mail drivers, stockmen and bush settlers.
