SHANGHAI THEATRE RAIDED. PICTURE TAKEN TO CANAL AND BURNED. United Press Association—By Electri* Telegraph—Copyright. SHANGHAI. Jan. 9. Armed with knivns and pistols, 30 Italian sailors from a gunboat stationed here Taidod tho Capitol theatre at five o’clock this evening and seized the film “Street Angel.” The film allegedly contains false impressions of Italy, and has been banned by Signor Mussolini. The sailors took the film to a nearby canal and burned it entirely. Police reserves were called out and hurriedly despatched to the Carlton theatre, where another copy of the film “Street. Angel” was being screened. However, the sailors did not appear. . . , The municipal authorities are maleing representations to the Italian Consul-General.
