FIRE AT ASHBURTON

DAMAGE TO OUTFITTER’S STOCK. Per Press Association. . ' ASHBURTON, Jan. 5. A fire about 12.30 caused considerable damage to tho stock of Mr. William Dixon, men’s outfitter, in Somerset buildings, owned by Mrs. Finnerty, of Christchurch. The building was not greatly damaged. Mr. Dixon had been an- inmate of tho hospital for some time. The insurances are not available. This was the brigade’s most serious call for over 12 months.
