Two Lads Bore No 111-will Against Consul
BOND OF £lO IMPOSED. Received Friday, 10.10 p.m. BRISBANE, Jan. 4. At the Innisfail Court, Percy Dingwall, aged 18, and Walter Butcher, aged 17, were charged with unlawfully damaging tho Italian coat of arms on December 23. Both pleaded guilty. Police Inspector Mann stated that the accused were under tho influence of drink and removed a number of signs. They were not aware of the seriousness of their action in removing tho Italian insignia. The solicitor for accused expressed deep regret and declared the lads had no ill-will against the Italian Consul. The Magistrate, Mr. Aitkcn, expressed the hope that the lads would give up drink and warned them 6f the grave risk of international complications arising from their action. Ho ordered both to enter into a bond of £lO and to come up for sentence when called upon.
